Rebuilding LA from the wildfires is an ultra-marathon, not a sprint.

Altadena to the Palisades

An ultra-marathon relay to rebuild LA.

Silver Lake Track Club is back with year two of Altadena to the Palisades. This annual fundraiser takes runners and bikers on a 50k journey through LA, connecting the two areas most impacted by the 2025 wildfires – Altadena and the Palisades.

Run as a team of five, run the full 50k, run whatever segment of the course suits you best, or hop on a bike. This is not a race, but a celebratory expression of movement to reflect and re-energize efforts to rebuild the beautiful city of Los Angeles.

We invite all run clubs, runners, bike clubs and bikers to join us in an effort to make a meaningful and continued impact.

All funds raised will be donated to local, ongoing fire relief and rebuilding efforts making a lasting impact on these communities. Last year we raised over $50,000 (for the 50k distance), and our goal is to top that this year. Rebuilding is a marathon, not a sprint, and Los Angeles needs our ongoing love and support. 100% of sales from ticket purchases will be directly donated to these local non-profits. This year's event will benefit:

  • My TRIBE Rise
  • Greenline Housing Foundation
  • Altadena Mountain Rescue
  • Malibu Search & Rescue

FAQs

  1. I’m a cyclist biker person! How do I participate?

Same as the runners! Same start time, same relay options, same solo options, same aid stations. It’s a slow roll through the city we love!

  2. How does this work as a relay?

We'll have checkpoints every ~10k at local establishments. If participating as a team, each team will need to coordinate which runner should arrive at which checkpoint and at what time based on their expected paces. The start will be at 8am! And remember you don't need a full team to particupate.

  3. What will the checkpoints be?

START: Good Neighbor Bar, 10K: Found Coffee, 20K: Makisupa, 30K: Superba Hollywood, 40K: Tuscan Son , 45K : Demitasse Coffee 50K: Will Rogers Beach. (10k is 6.2 miles)

  4. I can't attend on race day, how can I still support?

Check out our Give Butter to make a donation of any amount, or share with your friends and local community. And, thank you !

  5. Is there a team registration vs an individual registration?

Nope – all participants will need to purchase their own ticket in order to participate. $50 per runner – whether you'll be running a segment of the course, or the full 50k. All funds from registrations will be donated to local organizations in Altadena and the Palisades.

  6. What will be at the checkpoints?

We will supply water, treats, snacks (granola bars, candy) electrolytes, and energy gels at all checkpoints.

  7. When and how do I get my t shirt?

We will be organizing a t shirt pickup on Friday February 6 at Makisupa

  8. Is fitness required?

NO! You can run, walk, bike, scooter, volunteer, cheer, vibe out however you want. The main goal is to raise funds for fire relief and create a community experience for LA.

  9. Will any transportation be provided?

NO, it's LA, make it a beach day!

  10. If I only run between one or a few check points, how will I get to the end to celebrate?

The finish line party and hangs will start roughly around 1pm. Plan a ride accordingly. It's a great day to try a city-bike and get yourself down there!

  11. What if I just want to go to the party and not run or walk any of it?

As long as you buy a donation ticket, you are welcome to have a free drink to celebrate the day. Friends and family pick ups and hangs at the finish are welcome and we encourage them to please donate too.

  12. What volunteer options are available ?

Start by emailing silverlaketrackclub@gmail.com or if you are reading this last minute, go to any of the 5 checkpoints to cheer and hop in with the volunteers. Thank you!

  13. Can I get a refund?

Because this is a fundraiser, we will not issue refunds but will review case by case requests for extenuating circumstances.

  14. Do I need a full relay team of 5 people? Or can I run with a team of 2-4 or even run SOLO?

Yes, yes and yes, run however you want, from where ever you want. You can run the whole route solo, you can start at any check point and run any segment, you can even rock up the final check point and run to the beach for the party! This is your day, for LA.
