Creative Craft [Healing]
Wednesday 30th July | 11.00 - 12.30am | In-person | 6 places | FREE to Network Members
We are delighted to offer you this creative craft session, to bring you together and enjoy an hour of calm creativity and connection. The sessions will be given by Anna, who has her own experience of cancer.
We will focus on healing for this workshop using both images and words. Don't feel you have to be a super artist, it's almost a mindfulness session but with a physical focus!
Hi, in case we haven’t already met, I’m Anna.
I’ve always been drawn to colours, patterns and textures and regularly save bits and pieces as I spot them. One of my favourites is the patterned card on Pukka tea boxes-I even created an 80th birthday picture for my Mum using 8 different patterns and cutting them into petals.I remember doing several workshops during COVID, run by the Hampshire Arts Trust and more recently have done 6 sessions of art therapy through My Cancer My Choices which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Now that I’m going to run some workshops I’ve sorted all of them into folders: Card and paper, tissue, threads and ribbon, foils and other stuff…and I’m willing to share, but you are more than welcome to bring along anything you want to include or that calls you.
I’m a great believer that creative crafting, rather than “Art” which folks run a mile from, is really good for your mental health. It takes you out of your head and whatever your worries are to do something totally different. It also gives you a snapshot in time of where you were in that moment.
The session is held in the Charity Community Hub, Erftstadt Court in Wokingham, for up to 6 people per session. The session will have it's own booking link so that we know who will be coming.
I would ask you to bring a colourful magazine, a pencil and a pair of scissors….and anything else you might want to include. Looking forward to seeing you there!😎
Parking in Wokingham is available, charges vary so please ensure you check. There are 2 carparks that are close to the hub, the multi-story and Denmark Street car parks. If you have a Blue Badge, parking is free.
