ABOUT FREEDOG

Freedog Bio (2025)

Freedog is what happens when mountain soul meets rock ’n’ roll.

Fronted by former pro skier and songwriter Bryon Friedman, the Park City–based band blends roots, rock, and a touch of psychedelia into a sound that feels both timeless and alive.

From spacious ballads and smoke-filled grooves to tongue-in-cheek anthems, Freedog moves effortlessly between introspection and celebration — music born in motion, shaped by years chasing deep powder, distant horizons, and honest connection.

Friedman’s songwriting has carried him from the Alps to Austin, from hotel lobbies to headline stages. He was voted #1 Emerging Singer-Songwriter on SiriusXM’s Coffeehouse, featured in The Ski Channel’s “The Story,” and has opened for The Band of Heathens, John Fogerty, Matt Kearney, Brett Denned, G-Love and more.

The band’s current lineup — Matt Gordon (Gordo) on drums, Nick Chamberlain on keys, Max Webb on lead guitar, and Stuart Benner-Campbell on bass — brings depth, groove, and soul to every stage they play.

Their latest recordings, the Winter EP and Summer EP, showcase Freedog’s evolving sound: raw, warm, and full of heart.

For Freedog, it’s all part of the same ride — from the mountains, through the valley, into the sea.
