BONAVENTURA BOTTONE

Described by the New Grove Dictionary of Opera as ‘a superb actor with a strong lyrical voice’, Bonaventura has performed in opera houses around the world for over five decades, appearing with the most eminent conductors and orchestras. He has worked with leading directors and sung with artists of the last century and the rising performers of the twenty first century. His operatic repertoire spans over a hundred leading rôles in a wide range of styles.

JENNIFER DAKIN

Born in Derbyshire, Jennifer studied at the Conservatorium of Music in Sydney winning the Most Promising Singer of the Year Award and at the Royal Academy of Music in London winning many prizes including the Opera Prize awarded by Dame Eva Turner. Accompanied by the composer, she sang at Michael Head’s 70th Birthday Concert.

Jennifer was a Professor of Singing at the Royal Academy of Music from 2002 – 2017 and her wide experience of opera and concert repertoire has taken her to venues throughout the world. She has sung with the Gresley, Dunvant, Port Talbot, Ystradgynlais, Mousehole and Shiney Row Male Voice Choirs.

Recently Jennifer, a Soprano and her husband Bonaventura, a Tenor have enjoyed singing on music cruises from Venice to Mantua, Amsterdam to Bernkastel and Vienna - Salzburg - Budapest.

Jennifer and Bonaventura are both patrons of Mousehole Male Voice Choir and last sung with us in our 2002 Summer Festival Concert when they received a huge ovation!
