Helping Young People Excel-H.Y.P.E

Helping Young People Excel (HYPE) was inspired by Shavon Duffey, after attending a community meeting set up by community leaders right here in Winnsboro in 1999. We wanted to ask ourselves , what could we do to make Winnsboro better? So, HYPE was founded in the year 2000. We are an African American owned and operated 501c 3 non-profit organization. Our desire is to make a positive change for all youth in the Winnsboro community and surrounding communities. Our efforts are to mold and shape the children of today into leaders of tomorrow. We want them to be able to be strong and leaders for the next generation. Dr. King's legacy was about UNITY. Our goal is to provide scholarship opportunities to high school seniors, assist with school supply drives for 9K-4th) help establish and maintain a type of tutoring program to help students achieve academic success.
