"The purpose of the Event is to also offer to the DC residents and tourists a unique blend of African and people of African descent arts, culture and to identify talent and encourage creativity among young people and promote diversity and success by working to grow our next generation of artists. Our vision is to provide a platform where Black people can be recognized and have something to participate in that is their own, get together, connect, celebrate, and showcase their creations and have opportunity to develop and grow in a progressive, productive, and truly inclusive accessible arts and culture environment. The event will also expose attendees to black heritage and inspire and strengthen pride in our ancestry and enhance and expand economic activities and cultural tourism in our region. This extraordinary celebration is one way of sharing history with our brothers and sisters that we have been Kings and Queens for generations and generations. This event will not only perform as a platform to cherish and acknowledge our differences, but it also aims to create an ambiance of unity and peace and enhance relations by providing an opportunity to learn from each other's unique experiences."
